New Data Reveals Northern Kentucky’s Most Dangerous Roads

A local nonprofit just launched an interactive online map that shows where catastrophic car crashes have occurred throughout Northern Kentucky over the past nine years. The Devou Good Project, a Covington-based organization, created the map by compiling crash data recorded throughout Boone, Campbell, and Kenton counties.

According to the map, over the past nine years almost 3,000 crashes have seriously injured or killed people in the documented counties. One of these dangerous areas is on Madison Avenue, a straightaway road where speeding often occurs. Nearly 100 crashes have produced serious injuries on the street. Locals often complain that while the speed limit is 30 mph, many drivers regularly drive up to 60 mph.

The data was sourced from Kentucky State Police records, which then helped developers to geolocate each incident. The map shows that most serious crashes trend along Northern Kentucky’s major roads, including North Bend Road, Houston Road, the AAA Highway, and Dixie Highway. The project is an effort to make roads safer for drivers.

Kentucky Laws Regarding Car Accident Claims

Like all states, Kentucky has a deadline for filing a personal injury claim against another individual or corporation. The statute of limitations is one year after the accident occurred, but in some cases, such as when PIP payments are made on behalf of the injured party, the deadline may be extended to two years.

In order to determine when your deadline is to file your claim, hiring a personal injury lawyer who has years of experience and can provide sound guidance is crucial. Having a lawyer can also help you get started on your claim now so you can be compensated for your damages quicker. Missing the deadline to file a claim means you lose your opportunity to hold the people who causes your injuries responsible for their actions.

Kentucky is also a comparative fault state, which means that the driver responsible for your injuries can build a defense that claims you were partly negligent. This defense can reduce the amount of compensation you’re able to receive. For example, if you are found to be 20% responsible for the accident, the court will reduce your damages by the amount equal to your 20% responsibility.

Our lawyers are committed to seeking full compensation for our clients. Guilty parties and their insurance companies will try to evade liability – it’s our job to hold them fully responsible.
